Malt Garden

Tucked beside the historic Southern Maltings building, the garden blends colourful planting, a peaceful fruit garden and flexible open space. With room for up to 75 guests (50 seated), it’s ideal for everything from birthday parties and summer socials to acoustic performances, theatre, workshops and community events.

A covered shelter provides the perfect spot for bands, performers or presentations, with electricity available on site. Garden tables, chairs and umbrellas are included, and a pop up bar is available by arrangement to help make your event even more memorable.

Accessibility sits at the heart of the space. Step free access from Kibes Lane Car Park makes arrival easy, while the long picnic table includes wheelchair spaces so everyone sits together.

The Malt Garden is available as an extension to your Upstairs or Downstairs venue hire, giving you extra outdoor space for guests to relax, celebrate or enjoy live entertainment. Standalone garden hire is available on request, although please note there are no toilet facilities unless hired alongside an indoor space.
