Qi Gong at Southern Maltings with Donna – Qi Gong is an ancient holistic practice that combines gentle movement, conscious breath, mindfulness, and intention to support balance, vitality, and overall wellbeing. Often described as a moving meditation, Qi Gong helps to calm the nervous system, improve energy flow within the body, and cultivate a deeper sense of connection, grounding, and inner ease.
About Donna
With over 20 years of experience in both creative practice and holistic healing, Donna is passionate about supporting others on their personal health and wellbeing journey. Her path has included deep personal healing alongside years of study and practice in Reiki, Qi Gong, somatic breathwork, mindfulness, energetic healing, and fostering a creative connection to nature and the natural world.
As a Reiki Master, Donna offers gentle, embodied practices that encourage safety, relaxation, rest, and ease. Through mindful movement, breath, and quiet awareness, her workshops invite participants to reconnect with their bodies while cultivating a deeper connection to themselves and the natural rhythms of life.
By nurturing our inner dialogue and strengthening the connection between body, breath, and mind, these practices help support balance within the nervous system and create a greater sense of coherence, grounding, and wellbeing. This gentle and sustainable approach encourages participants to move from states of stress and overwhelm into greater calm, presence, and ease.
What happens?
Each session begins gently in a seated position, allowing time to arrive, settle, and reconnect through conscious breathing and a guided body scan. This helps support the nervous system to step out of fight-or-flight and into a state of rest, ease, and relaxation. From there, we move into gentle standing or seated Qi Gong practices, including mindful activations, flowing movements, and breath-led connection. The session closes with a guided meditation, either lying comfortably on mats or seated in a chair, creating space for deep rest, grounding, and integration.
What to bring?
Sessions may include both standing movement and relaxation lying on the floor, so please bring:
- A yoga mat or something comfortable to lie on
- A pillow or cushion for head support
- Blankets or warm layers to keep comfortable and warm, as body temperature can naturally drop during relaxation
- Water or a drink to stay hydrated
- Anything else that will help you feel cosy, supported, and at ease throughout the session
How long will it last?
Our Qi Gong sessions are 90 mins long
Where in the building will you hold the session?
Our Qi Gong sessions are held in our main studio which has accessible lift access.
