Design Your Own Printed Cushion or Tea Towel with Julia Fonnereau – Create a unique piece of homeware or a thoughtful Christmas gift in this four-week creative course, where you’ll design your own fabric print inspired by animals, botanicals and seasonal nature themes.
Using pencil and watercolour, you’ll begin by creating a collection of beautiful hand-drawn illustrations, from festive woodland creatures and winter birds to flowers, foliage and botanical motifs. You’ll then learn how to develop your artwork into a finished design, ready to be transformed into a professionally printed fabric item.
Choose to create a cushion cover, tea towel or tote bag, with guidance on adapting your design to suit each format and proportion. Having your design professionally printed is entirely optional, but for those who wish to, finished items will be ready to collect from 8 December, making them perfect handmade Christmas presents.
The course fee covers tuition and design development. Printed products are charged separately, with cushion covers approximately £40 including the initial set-up fee. Additional items can be ordered at a lower cost, and participants are also welcome to arrange their own printing if preferred.
Starts: Tuesday 3 November
Duration: 4 weeks
Collection of printed items: 8 December
