This month’s performers are:
SECOND BITE
Local favourites Second Bite combine melodic guitars, dual vocals and close harmonies to create an engaging acoustic sound. With their mix of soulful covers, laid-back originals and natural musical chemistry, they’ve built a loyal following on the local live music scene.
EL DAVARIO
Born from two Hertford school dads, a couple of guitars and a soundproofed shed, El Davario bring their own original soft rock to the stage. Inspired by Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses and Pearl Jam, their music combines a love of classic rock with acoustic songwriting.
MIKE EXCELL
Singer-songwriter Mike Excell performs his own songs alongside those he wishes he’d written, drawing inspiration from artists including Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg and Ralph McTell. His thoughtful lyrics explore everything from climate change and ageing to railway disasters and cricket, mixing serious subjects with dry humour.
PAUL BOOTH TRIO
A familiar name on the Hertfordshire music scene, Paul Booth blends indie, pop, alternative rock, folk and country with a mix of upbeat rhythms and finger-picked ballads. Joined by Si Lee on bass and Verna Akers on harmony vocals and percussion, the trio perform original material, including songs from Paul’s 2025 debut album, Take One.
WHY NOT
Why Not are a harmony-led acoustic duo performing original songs by local artists alongside their own compositions and carefully selected covers. Their repertoire moves through modern folk, roots, country and Americana, bringing together songs they love to play and share with audiences.
STEVE WARNER & JULIE SIMPSON
Solo singer-songwriters Steve Warner and Julie Simpson have joined forces to form an acoustic folk duo. Together they perform traditional jigs and reels, original folk songs and carefully chosen covers, celebrating their shared love of folk music.
