Thanks for taking interest in volunteering for Southern Maltings.

Southern Maltings is primarily run by a great group of dedicated volunteers.  There are lots of different roles available with varied skill levels at Southern Maltings and we look forward to welcoming you to our group.

For instance, we often need help with:

  • Bar work - taking orders and serving
  • Setting up events
  • Meet and greet
  • Stewarding exhibitions and events
  • Clearing and cleaning up after events
  • Providing refreshments for events
  • Groundwork maintenance
  • Cafe - cooking, food preparation, waiting, serving and greeting
  • Assisting with Under 5s workshops and classes
  • Assisting with kids’s clubs and events
  • AND MANY MORE

We hold regular volunteering events – these are social and keep our volunteers up to date with plans and opportunities to play a part in our future programme.

All our volunteering opportunities could help with work experience for those looking to build a CV or for others perhaps returning to work.

A training programme will be offered to all volunteers, some in-house and some formal training which may include a qualification e.g. food hygiene and health and safety, bar and project management.

All we ask is that you dedicate 4 hours a month to Southern Maltings and enjoy your experience with us.
