Origami Explosion Books Craft Workshop – The Artist Way
Spend some time making an Origami Explosion Book with art therapist Denise Johansen. This adult workshop encourages a mindful slow activity to calm and nurture.
This paper craft uses a simple origami method to make a double – sided book which can be filled with paintings, drawings, collage, memories, photographs or anything you wish.
This activity promotes being in mindful creativity, which is so important to our wellbeing, and having space to connect with others who enjoy art – based activities too.
Denise Johansen B.A hons (Design Craft) is a mixed media artist based in Hatfield who works with different mediums which include ceramics, textiles, painting, drawing and printing. Denise graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2020. Her own mental health journey has been a great influence on her artwork, this has been a great support and source of healing in her recovery from clinical depression and anxiety.

The workshop is being run with a maximum capacity of 8 and is suitable for anyone aged 16+ and will run for 2 hours from 2pm- 4pm on Saturday 7th February at a cost of £15 per head.
The session will be held in our main function space, within The Artist Way exhibition, with access from Kibes Lane car park.
