Fused Glass Meadow Flowers Light Catcher Workshop – Join glass artist Sam Rogers of Signed by Sam for a relaxed and creative afternoon exploring the beautiful art of fused glass. In this hands-on 3‑hour workshop, you’ll design and create your own meadow flowers light catcher, inspired by wildflowers, florals, and summer landscapes.

Working with a colourful range of glass frits (crushed glass) and confettis (glass shards), you’ll learn the basics of layering and building your own double layer fused glass panel, with plenty of guidance and encouragement throughout. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some experience — no prior glasswork skills are required.

Your finished piece will be kiln‑fired after the session and will be ready for collection two weeks after the workshop from the Southern Maltings SMart Cafe, which is open 10am – 4pm – Monday to Saturday.

About the Tutor – Sam Rogers

Sam originally trained as a graphic designer at art college in London before returning to her artistic roots later in life. A chance introduction to glass using a microwave kiln sparked what has become a full‑blown passion (metaphorically speaking!). Sam now creates fused and lampworked glass from her home studio and regularly exhibits at craft fairs across Hertfordshire and surrounding counties.

She is especially inspired by birds, creatures, landscapes and floral scenes, bringing colour, texture and joy into every piece she makes with her quirky and playful glass creations. Sam sells her work online, through her Facebook page, and via local stockists including Lakshmi Living in Wheathampstead. She is a regular exhibitor at Southern Maltings Art & Craft and Winterfest Markets.
